Artist CV - Michal Plis
Artist Statement
Michal Plis is a Polish-born, neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia. After two decades in IT, he returned to his art practice in 2022, channeling his focus into abstract paintings and sculptures that "sculpt with light."

His work explores optical phenomena, using materials such as fluorescent pigments, phosphorescent coatings, transparent layers, and reflective surfaces to create shifting perceptual experiences. His art investigates the interplay between the visible and invisible, revealing hidden depths and subtle patterns that invite viewers to explore worlds both alien and familiar.
