Get ready to embark on an extraordinary journey at the 2025 Exhibition, "Glimpse of Another Universe," which will be held at Louis Joel Gallery in Altona. This event promises to offer a fresh perspective on art, with the interplay of material and light, where Michal will reveal a captivating new art movement.

2025 Exhibition Statement

Welcome. This exhibition invites you into a fresh perspective, revealing Roundism, a contemporary art movement conceived by Michal Plis in 2022. Using this new movement, Plis explores his own abstract universe through purely round forms: dots, circles, rings, and spheres.

In this suite of paintings and sculptures, Plis is "sculpting with light". Subtle optical phenomena take center stage, including fluorescent pigments that shift with illumination, transparent layers that reveal the interplay of form and void, and reflective surfaces that catch and bend light in unexpected ways.

This exhibition explores coherence within the manifold nature of things, including us. This is introduced through three of these forces: You will find distinct Source sculptures for each, each with a manifold nature, as well as other works basking in their corresponding light:

Candor (Yellow): The "glowing heat" of purity and genesis, balanced against its blinding, overwhelming intensity.

Cinis (Red): The "orderly danger", balanced against the "dormant embers" of spent passion.

Caerulea (Blue): The "deep calm" and serenity, balanced against its somber, melancholy qualities.

As a neurodivergent creator, Plis fully immerses himself in his subjects, translating their essence into these vibrant, abstract, and coherent forms. Born in the early 1980s on Poland’s Baltic coast, Plis returned to art after two decades in information technology, refining this new vision at the Melbourne Studio of Art under Ilona Herrainer from 2024–2025.

These works are more than art; they are gateways. They are a glimpse into a cosmos, both alien and familiar, designed to spark your curiosity long after the gallery lights go down.
